About the Program


Programme Educational Objectives

The objective of our Accounting and Taxation Applications programme is to train qualified intermediate personnel who can provide services in accounting and taxation, and meet the needs of accounting and finance departments in accounting and consulting firms and businesses operating in the public or private sector. By providing students with basic knowledge in the field of accounting and helping them understand the functions and importance of accounting, the ability to follow relevant legislation related to their profession, perform preliminary accounting transactions and maintain accounting records for a business both in paper and electronic formats, prepare financial statements and analyse financial structures, handle tax-related processes for a business, participate in decision-making processes within an organisation, and utilise financial values.

To train a professional staff who has both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to support the formation of accountability and transparency by recording financial processes in private sector and public institutions and organisations, who is compatible with teamwork, who follows the laws and current changes related to the field of profession, who can think critically, produce solutions, who is sensitive to social responsibility and ethical values, who has made lifelong learning a way of life.

Programme Content
During the two-year accounting education, students are taught basic accounting and necessary general knowledge and courses in the first year, and vocational courses including specialised accounting are mainly taught in the second year. When the four-semester learning process is completed, students will have the ability to recognise the basic concepts and documents related to accounting, to comprehend the principles of financial statements, balance sheet and income statement, to edit financial statements in computer environment, to use package programmes related to accounting.

Programme Objective
The aim of the programme is to train students to be equipped with the knowledge, skills and experience to follow the changing conditions of today, to adapt themselves to them and to establish an accounting system in an enterprise from beginning to end.

Job Areas
Graduates of the department working at the desk in the office can work in the accounting departments of public and private sector organisations, finance and tax offices, or they can open an accounting office for themselves. Accounting professionals can work in public institutions, private workplaces or open their own workplaces after meeting the legal requirements. They have job opportunities as pre-accounting staff in public and private sector organisations. In addition, after completing the necessary internship training, they can obtain ‘Certified Public Accountant and Financial Advisor’ certificates and open an office.

Accounting Profession Staff It is a person who performs the profession of self-employed accountancy on behalf of a workplace or on his own behalf or contributes to the accounting management of public institutions and organisations.
